Audition Requirements, please come prepared with a monologue of your choice. Since The One Act Play That Goes Wrong is a highly physical, fast paced comedy, we encourage you to choose a piece that best showcases your comedic timing, dramatic flair, or ability to perform with an accent. Your monologue does not need to come from the show; it can be comedic or dramatic, classical or contemporary. Select something that highlights your ability to commit fully to a character, even in chaotic or exaggerated circumstances,
This production includes significant physicality and elements of physical comedy. Performers should be comfortable with movement heavy blocking and comedic physical interactions. Additionally, the role of Florence requires moments of being onstage in appropriate undergarments; actors auditioning for this role should be comfortable with this requirement.
Video Auditions: If you are unable to make the general auditions (we strongly recommend an in person audition), a video recorded audition reading of the sides may be submitted before 01/13/2026 by 8:00 pm to selmaartscenterauditions@gmail.com.
