” Hello Everybody, My Names June! Whats Yours?”
We asked Mary to tell us a little about becoming June, the over exposed daughter of an unrelenting stage mother.
“I believe that June is a very complex character. In the beginning of the show you see her as a little girl who looks up to her mother and respects her, but later in the show we see June becoming quite bitter towards her mother and the choices that she has made for her. It was a new experience for me to play a character that is very comedic, but also has a lot of deeper emotions, which I think is my favorite part about playing June. Playing this role has really helped me as a performer and I am so thankful to share this wonderful experience with the cast and crew at Selma Arts Center.”
